🏠 About the Ritual
Grah Pravesh Puja is not dedicated to a single deity but is a sankalp-based ritual that invokes multiple divine energies—Lord Ganesh for obstacle removal, Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity, and Lord Vishnu for protection and harmony. It also includes Vastu Shanti to align the home with cosmic forces.
📖 Kahaniyan (Stories Behind the Pooja)
- Vastu Purush Legend: According to ancient texts, Vastu Purush was a celestial being who lay face down on Earth. The gods assigned him to guard directions and energies. Performing Vastu Shanti during Grah Pravesh pleases him and ensures the home is aligned with nature’s balance.
- Lord Ganesh’s Blessing: In many stories, Ganesh is invoked first during Grah Pravesh to remove vighn (obstacles). One tale tells of a family who skipped Ganesh Puja and faced constant quarrels. After performing it properly, peace returned. This shows the importance of honoring Ganesh before settling in.
- Shri Ram’s Return to Ayodhya: When Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya after exile, the city was lit with lamps and joy. This event is considered the first divine Grah Pravesh, symbolizing that entering a home with devotion and celebration brings lasting happiness.
