🌞 About the Deities

The Navagrahas are the nine planetary forces that influence every aspect of life—Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Mangal (Mars), Budh (Mercury), Guru (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus), Shani (Saturn), Rahu, and Ketu. Each graha governs specific traits like health, intellect, emotions, and karma. Worshipping them brings graha shanti and cosmic alignment.

📖 Kahaniyan (Stories Behind the Pooja)

  • Yudhishthira’s Preparation: Before the Mahabharata war, Sage Vyasa advised Yudhishthira to perform Navagraha Pooja to neutralize planetary obstacles. The Pandavas followed the ritual, and their path was blessed with divine support. This story shows how planetary harmony is crucial before major life events.
  • Shani Dev and King Vikramaditya: King Vikramaditya once mocked Shani Dev, leading to years of suffering. After realizing his mistake, he performed Shani Pooja with humility. Shani forgave him and restored his peace. This tale teaches respect for cosmic forces and the power of sincere prayaschit (repentance).
  • Rahu-Ketu’s Origin: During Samudra Manthan, the demon Swarbhanu disguised himself to drink amrit. Vishnu severed him into Rahu and Ketu, who became shadow planets. Their influence is karmic and mysterious. Worshipping them helps overcome illusions, sudden losses, and emotional turbulence.
